Changing Seasons

I hung my Changing Seasons photography show at Hutchinson City Hall today, featuring larger images of fall and snow scenes alongside some of my aerial photographs.

I also stopped by Metropolitan Coffee and finished hanging the last wall (I couldn't do so while there before because some things had been left up).

Life Is Brilliant show photos

The final show of my Life Is Brilliant marker drawings is officially up at Metropolitan Coffee in Hutchinson Kansas. All are half off at $10 apiece so it's your last chance at these fun pictures. I have another four to hang but the previous artist didn't quite take down all their things so I am waiting for them to come back.

 

Art-Rage

Trump's Second Term, a graphic visitation of an erasure poem focused on the Declaration of Independence and comparing the current administration with King George, appears in Art-Rage, a Women's Caucus for Art Activism Pod virtual exhibition in conjunction with the ongoing Fall of Freedom initiatives. On display through November here on the WCA Current Exhibit page.

Summer Court

Life Is Brilliant - Final Show!

My Life Is Brilliant show of marker drawings is going to Metropolitan Coffee in Hutchinson Kansas for its final formal show. Beginning October 2 and running through October 30, 2026!

This will be your last chance to purchase framed drawings; if they are available after, they will only be offered unframed (and this likely won't happen at all). I will post some pictures of the display after I hang the show Thursday, so keep an eye out for that.

This series has previously been seen in Ocala Florida and the following Kansas locations: Art House 310 in Wichita; Norm's Coffee House in Newton; Hutchinson Art Center; Baker Art Center in Liberal; Red Barn Studio in Lindsborg; McPherson SOuL offices for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity; Clayworks' One Door North in McPherson; and Salina Public Library. The show has also raised $400 in donations for the Trevor Project to help LGBTQ+ youth struggling with acceptance, connection, suicide, and more.

Figure Modeling

I modeled again for Hutchinson Art Center today, this time as Amphitrite, Poseidon's wife. I'd planned this a long time back when I found the dress, but with the new Odyssey movie the timing seemed right...

Life Is Brilliant

Pillar Murals Done!

I didn't manage to post my progress Thursday due to the event, and Friday I had to pack it up because of unexpected rain, but the pillar murals are done. Here are a few photos of the end result from different angles. It is fun to walk through them, like a garden.

 

More Mural on Pillars Pending

I worked on two of the pillars today because it was hot and my shade moved. So here is some of that effort. Hoping to finish one of them during Third Thursday tomorrow and then only have 1 1/2 left. Probably not going to finish until Monday...

I am deeply honored that my poem To the  City Planners appeared in Thanatapathy's "Remember Kids, Cars Kill" edited by Bikemore's Coraline Ismael Karim and presented in a reading in July 2026 and in this book issue here.

And I finished the second new pillar today, shown from three angles here.

I got my first of the new pillars done painting today. Here are three views of it.

 

Mural Week 1

So I managed to get in three days of painting this week before the threat of rain and am mostly done mapping out my colors. I need to finish one more green and then touch up that color on all of them before I go on to do linework.

Update on the mural: I got all of the blue and other colors but green done, except the black linework. This is coming along quick so far.

 

New Mural Project

My proposal was accepted so I am embarking on my biggest mural project yet, to paint five more sunflower pillars on the pavilion at DCI Park in Hutchinson. I will help to create cohesion and tie the whole of the pavilion together by painting every other pillar to match while other artists do their own unique creative things on the remaining pillars. I am glad to be such a big part of this project. Today I got the blue done on three of my remaining five pillars, and I hope to finish the blue and the alternative colors this week. I may even manage to start on the green but I'm pretty sure the black, which is the most time-intensive, will have to wait until next week at the earliest.

 

Positivity Pollinators signs

I worked on another Positivity Pollinators sign to go with the Sphinx Moth I did awhile back for all of the placemaking community work Hutch Rec is doing. I think all the signs will be on display again for the Third Thursday in August 2026.

After the Strange Play event, Voidspace Live is also doing their own event from June 6 - 7, 2026, also at the Theatre Deli in London. And my Contacting the Outer Planes will be a part of that event also. Again, I wish I could go see it, it sounds like a lot of fun. Tickets available here.
